  • BWSSB has bagged the prestigious Special Achievement in GIS(SAG) International award for its outstanding accomplishment in GIS and its applications. BWSSB has won this award instituted by Environmental Systems Research Institute(ESRI) California USA, out of more than 100,000 organizations world wide. The presentation of BWSSB about BISON done on the occasion recently in New Delhi has been hosted on 100,000 web sites world over.
    The SAG award will be presented to BWSSB during the ESRI International User Conference 2004, at San Deigo, California on 12.08.2004.
  • BWSSB is conferred with Rajiv Gandhi State Award for the year 2004-05, for its outstanding contribution in the area of water conservation, Recycling & Re-use of water, scientific treatment and disposal of sewage and protection of environment.

  • BWSSB conferred Award for Exempting E-Governance Initiatives
    BWSSB has bagged Silver Icon Award for its Exemplary Performance in E-Governance initiatives undertaken in the Board for the year 2003.
    This Award for Exemplary performance in E-Governance initiatives was conferred by Sri L.K Advani, Hon'ble Dy.Prime Minister and Home Minister, Government of India at the 7th National E-Governance Conference jointly organized by Government of India and Government of Tamilnadu from 13.11.2003 to 15.11.2003 at Chennai.

  • BWSSB conferred Golden Peacock Award
    Bangalore Water Supply and Sewage Board was awarded the Golden Peacock Award under the Muncipal Services Sector.
    BWSSB is the first among the Government Sector to get this Award. Function arranged by the Institute Of Directors (IOD) on 24.01.2004. The Award was distributed by the Minister for large scale Industry Sri R.V. Deshpande presented the Award to Sri. M.N Vidyashankar, Chairman BWSSB.

  • Cauvery Water Supply to Greater Bangalore
    BWSSB is extending water supply facility to greater Bangalore, which encompasses seven City Municipalities and one Town Municipality under its Greater Bangalore Water Supply Project (GBWSP). These Urban local bodies such as Yelahanka, Byatarayanapura, Krishnarajapuram, Mahadevapura, Bommanahalli, Rajarajeswari Nagar, Kengeri and Dasarahalli constitute a total area of about 240 Sq.kms. The total estimated cost of the project is Rs. 343 crores.
    The infrastructure built under this Water Supply Project is proposed to be operated and maintained including revenue realization through Delegated Management Contract Mechanism over a period of five years after completion of the project.
    Out of the total project cost of Rs. 343 crores, Rs. 126.75 crores will be collected through user contribution, Rs. 77.79 crores through State Grants and the remaining amount through borrowing from different financial organizations.
    The Tender notification inviting Expression of interest for the Project Management Consultancy has already been published nationally as well as globally. Overall project management during execution including supervising, monitoring, advising, assuring quality, ensuring the progress of the project, preparing documents for delegated management contract mechanism including advisory services to BWSSB to enable effective and efficient delegated management are provided by Project Management Consultants.
    Work has already been tendered during last week of December 2003, technical bids have been open during March 2004 and further formalities are under progress. Work will take off from July 2004 & the water supply component of the project is scheduled to be complete by July 2005.

  • A systematic Leak Reduction programme, with as investment of Rs.48 Crores & assisted by JBIC has been launched on 05.06.2003 in a pilot area comprising five service stations of High Grounds, Ulsoor, Clive Line Reservoir, Coles park and Johnson Market area. The project period is 18 months. M/s Thames Water Pvt Ltd, Singapore, and M/s Larsen and Toubro, India, are executing the project.

  • 60 Million Litres per Day capacity Tertiary Treatment plant, the biggest plant of its kind in Asia, built under French Protocol and with HUDCO assistance has been inaugurated by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of the State on 28.05.2003 at Vrishabhavathi Valley on Mysore road.

  • 10 Million Litres per Day Capacity Tertiary Treatment plant at Yelahanka was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of the state on 14.05.2003.

  • A 24 hours online Cash Counter has been installed and made operational on a trial basis in Jaynagar division office. It accepts cheques, DD, cash and issues receipts on the spot.

  • Electronic Clearance System for bill payment has been inaugurated by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sri S.M.Krishna 12-12-2002.

  • BWSSB is collecting 1200 water samples per month from several parts of Bangalore city and testing every day at Central Lab to monitor water quality.

  • Electronics Clearance System for bill payment was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sri S.M.Krishna on 12-12-2002.
    BWSSB has introduced Electronic Clearing System (ECS) facility for its customers. ECS facility enables our  customers to pay their water supply and sanitary bills directly from their bank accounts instead of personally going  to cash counters. Once a customer fills the mandate form and gives his/her consent to transfer amount from his/her bank account to BWSSB, he/she no longer needs to visit a cash counter to pay bills.

  • Australian High Commissioner, Mr. Rob Laurie inaugurated the Bangalore Water Supply & Environmental Sanitation Master Plan Project on 28-7-2000 at Cauvery Bhavan 7th Floor, BWSSB. AusAID has extended assistance valued at AUD 6.7 million (Rs.17 crores ) to prepare this Master Plan for the next 25 years which is to improve Water Supply, Sewerage and Environmental services to all.

  • The Mandate form given below can be filled and submitted to the Assistante Executive Engineer of the concerned Sub-division. Customers opting for ECS should inform about the month from which ECS Payment to be accepted.
  • Customers can have their Bank Account in any Bank in Bangalore, not necessarily Syndicate Bank.  Forms are available in any Syndiate Bank in Bangalore and in all Water Supply & Sanitary Sub-divisions (Maintenance).
