Cubbon Park - 300 acres of verdent tranquility, right in the heart of
Bangalore. Cubbon Park - laid out by Lord Bowring in 1864 - is highly popular
with walkers, joggers and nature- lovers.
Bangalore Palace - Inspired by the Windsor Castle, built in the Tudor style by
the Wodeyar king in 1887. Tipu Sultan’s Fort and Palace- in the busy, crowded
City Market area lie the remnants of Tipu’s Fort. Within the Fort walls is a
little temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Tipu’s Palace, one of his summer
retreats built in 1791 is a two- storeyed ornate wooden structure with pillars,
arches and balconies.
Nehru Planetarium on Sankey road is a must visiting spot for young
Astronomers. The Musical Fountain opposite the Planetarium is on the same lines
as in Brindavan at KRS, BOATING : Ulsoor Lake, Sankey Boat Club
at Sadashivanagar.
Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum, Government
Museum, Aquarium, Venkatappa Art Gallery are well known for display of the
talent in science and technology rare collections of art and architecture.
Bannerghatta National Park. Located 22 km's south of city amidst
sylvan surroundings, this park has a crocodile farm, and a tiger and lion safari.
Hesaraghatta, 25 km's away from city has an artificial lake and a dairy
and horticultural farm. Boating and windsurfing are the other attractions.
Nrityagrama - Started by well known dancer Ms.Protima Gauri Bedi, is the
famous dance village- 25 km's west of the city which is well known for its
annual music & dance festival called "VasanthaHabba". |
