Cauvery Water Supply Scheme Stage IV Phase - II
Cauvery Water Supply Scheme Stage Iv Phase-II has been taken up with Financial Assitance from Japan Bank for Inaternational Co-operation (RS. 2830 crores) at an estimated cost of Rs. 3383.70 crores. Governmaent of Karnataka has accorded Administrative approval to the scheme vide Go dated 08.06.2005. The schem consists of 13 Water Supply contract and 11 Sewerage Contract Packages apart from Distribution Improvement Component (UFW) and Management Improvement Component.
Water Supply :
Prequalification of firms is completed. Tenders are issued for 12 works which includes raw water transfer, Water Treatment Plant, Transmission line from T.K.halli to Bangalore. City Trunk mains, City Reservoirs and Pumping stations. Tender for supply of MS Plates required for the Tranamission mains is received on 21.08.2008. Technical review of the offers is completed, finiancial bid is opened and the single offer of M/s. SAIL (Steel Authority of India Ltd.) has been sent to M/s. JICA for concurrence. Tenders for construction of clear water reservoirs and pump houses, Electro mechanical equipment's and accessories at T.K.halli, Harohalli and Tataguni are issued from 21/01/2009. Tenders for the Water Treatment Plant, Feeder Mains, Transmission Mains & City Reservoirs will be received on 22/01/2009, 23/01/2009 & 24/01/2009 respectively.
Sewerage :
Prequalification of firms for sewer pipeline rehabilitation is completed. Tenders are issued for 5 works, out of this bids are received for 3 works. Repackaging of sewage treatment plants with Intermediate Sewage Pumping Stations is under progress.
Prequalification document for distribution improvement component is received, Evaluation report is under review.
The Water Supply Component of the scheme is seheduled for completion by 2011-12 and Sewerage Component by 2012-13.
Intergrated Water Management Projects :
Government of India has sanctioned the " Intergragted Water Management project for Vrushbhavathi Valley " Wherein it is proposed to treat used water by Ultra filtration and blend with T.G.Halli reservoir water. After regular treatment again at T.G.Halli, water is proposed to be supplied to City. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 473 crores for supplying 130MLD of water.
Expression of Interest is received from the prospective bidders, the same is under evaluation.
